Interesting Jersey head

I thought that I would share this interesting head before I moved it along. It is a Jersey pattern, no visible markings, looks like it had once had some slight grinding to repair minor mushrooming, interesting as the edge looks almost new. Looks cared for in general. It is 2.6lbs, and has an decent sized eye but smaller than full sized. I have not seen one like it before. A Mann Edge 4lb head is there for reference.

Not that I can tell, how so?

What looks like the temper line is actually two different steels. Sometimes it's well defined other times its pretty subtle.

The DBL bit on top is a one piece solid steel head. The one on the bottom has forge welded bits. On the left side it appears as a straight line, on the right it is an uneven line but still clearly visable.

In person, comparing this to the scores of axe heads that I have examined prior to resale, this looks like most and I have no reason to suspect other than a tempered single piece of steel. However, I have two axe heads that I was planning to post soon with that question. Both have uniform but minor pitting over the entire surface, EXCEPT for the hardened bit, which has none. I
I'll post a quick pic and you can tell me what you think.

The toe looks a little short to me. And the tempered area in general looks a little short. I'm guessing it was once a 3 pound axe.

Reminds me a bit of this one. Hole is smaller than a full-sized axe but larger than a boy's axe. This one is closer to 3lbs 6oz or so.
