Hi all! I meant to post this awhile ago, but I'd like to get some opinions on it.

The sheath is made of two pieces of wood which are bound together with brass fittings. The blade has some beautiful inscriptions, including a fish. The handle is bone and is unfortunately cracked and has been repaired with some sort of organic resin.

Thanks!

Neat blade brucers.

Shape-wise, it looks like a the 19th century khukuri.

You've got some active (i.e. red) rust that you may want to take care of, before it pits the blade more. You can stabilize it in the short term with WD40. Longer term, you may want to remove some of the rust scale to bring the pattern out.

Interesting piece,

Nice old villiger, there usualy fairy batterd & dark with use. . ~Id guess it was at least 50 years old.

I just oil them usualy, & on one I rubbed chalk dust in the pattern to highlite it. To me it wouldnt look right all shiney.

Nice curve to the handle!

thats cool! how long have you had it?

Thanks! I've had it for about two years and I just found it while cleaning through some boxes. I got it from a guy in Australia that takes yearly trips to Nepal. I also got this mask from him.
