This is cool. It is a great way for us to show the public that balisong users are not evil gang members out to do someone harm, but that we good people, we have hearts, and we are willing to help someone in need.

I am sure a lot of people in the world are already doing this, but it would look great if a specific group (that's us) participated in the project. It could help our image a little down the road.

What do the rest of you think?

well, you can form teams to work on this together, and obviously you can name the team, so if we were to form a team, I'd imagine we would call it "bali-something" so people would know. Or, if you just do this individually, you pick a username for the program. FYI - they do give away cash prizes to those who contribute the most processing power! Check it out at www.ud.com Thanks for your support guys! One of my aunts was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, so when I heard about this program, I jumped on it. Who knows; I could help save, or at least extend someone's life, and it could be someone I know! I figure it's worth a shot. It doesn't cost a dime, or take any effort at all. Your computer does ALL the work. Anyway, enough out of me! Thanks so much!

arg... where exactly did you see the info on setting up a team? (i haven't started running the program yet; just downloaded it.) i've probably just skimmed over it.
 
Go to the website at www.ud.com and login. You need to register and create a username/password with the software in order to be able to login on the site. Let me know if you guys want to make a team! Come up with a name, and I'll create it!

SETI has been doing the same thing for about 2.5 years now.

Random - I am aware of the seti project, and my boss had it on his computer, however, the Intel project is obviously a far better use of the computing power. (Gee, fight cancer, or find aliens?...hmmmm)
