I'm just getting into knife collecting and this trend is very disheartening to me.
Many times, before I buy a product, I try to indentify which one is the most American made. That applies to tools, guns, tires, etc. This often takes a lot more effort than it should. For example, try to find a web-based knife seller that indicates the country of origin for each product. The only one I could find was
http://www.cutleryshoppe.com. I mean, the manufacturer's own web sites don't even clearly indicate where they're made.
Because of this difficulty, once I identify a worthy manufacturer, I usually remain loyal to them.
One of the reasons I feel compelled to buy a particular product sometimes is because it's American made.
But they all do it. They sell their souls to the Communists only to get bought out, down-sized and phased out. I can't say I blame them thou. Most Americans just want stuff cheap.
Which knife manufacturer would you say qualifies as the "most American made"? I thought Buck was a safe bet.
