It talks about the origins and composition of the steel known as 1095CV,Case CV,and CarbonV,depending on what maker it was used by.

Lol.

Seriously though....I didn't realize it was such old steel, or that so many used it before. So that was Carbon V? Now I don't have to abuse my knives....I can just go watch old videos of a fat guy getting silly with a car hood and a vise. Maybe that is what "Cold Steel" originally meant....(C)old steel.

I just got an "official warning" from a moderator the other day for posting a link to another thread on this same site ??????????????? I did not know you couldn't do that. I see people do it all the time. WTF am i missing here ???? I did what i did to avoid having to start a completely new thread/copy/post an entire thread, so i posted a link.

Lemme look into it, might be some mitigating cirumstances.

General is for topic post discussion, they tend to frown any thread that involves just a link without some kind of discussion. It is a forum specific rule, which means it applies to that forum, not necessarily all forums.

Like, here in the manufacturer forums, linking to a thread in another part of the forum, that pertains to our knives, such as 1095 steel discussion, would be acceptable.

The idea is that there is not a ton of threads created everywhere, then linked in just about every forum for traffic. It makes since, theoretically, since General Discussion is for discussion, and reviews are for reveiws.

If some one had come on, and said, "hey, does anyone have any information on the Ou812?" And you come on and post, "Yeah, I thought i was pretty good, I even did a review , here (hyperlink your review thread), then, it would be considered part of the discussion, whereas, the discussion of the Ou812 may continue.

Starting a thread just to promote your review, technically is spam, and the only time I know it has been approved, was when I was running signups, and contests for Kniferights. Kniferights affects us all, and Spark is a supporter.

Plus, it was a warning, nothing more than getting your attention. Supers don't have the time really to send personal messages, like us forum specific mods do.

No worries, you're not a bad boy and no one has it in for you, they's just lettin' ya know.

That help?
