Interesting thread Buck might want to see

In the thread I've linked to (below), the original poster made the statement that "Clearly, some of the Buck Striders are not heat-treated." I was wondering what Buck's official response to this would be, as several people, including me, do not believe it is factual, and tried to advise the original poster of such. The original poster has not yet retracted his initial statement.

I hate it when people say such foolish things. Hopefully everyone recognizes it as such.

Man...I see a lot of tension when I leave home.
Anyway, yes, an interesting thread and thanks 3G (and TLC ;)) for the direct response.
Looking forward to Buck's "official" response...

In the thread I've linked to (below), the original poster made the statement that "Clearly, some of the Buck Striders are not heat-treated."

After reading the 4 or 5 threads linked to in that thread, I think the statement should be revised to "Clearly, some of the Buck Striders are not heat-treat stamped"...

Maybe it's my mellow mood speaking, but it seems like a lot of people are getting really unhappy about...some newbie coming in and making a dumb statement because they didn't understand something? With the high potential for this kind of situation to repeat itself until the end of time, getting so angry about it is, like, totally un-zen dudes.

Yeah, maybe you're right Carl64. That is what I meant by the "tension" over on that thread.
For me, it was the "clearly" statement as you indicated, that I think peeps were addressing. I did not chime in because I felt it got clarified. No sense beating a dead corpse.
Perhaps the replies from 3G about being a "slap in the face" and TLC stating that the thread starter did not have a clue were a bit edgey. And, I'm not defending them or anything...each types into a post what they like and interpretation is subjective to the one reading it.
What really got me to note the "tension" was a few of the responses to the clarifications.

I don't travel much outside this Buck sub-forum, but even here, you can't have thin skin.

As a newbie I can tell you that I've been cyber-beat-up and had my lunch money taken for some of the questions I ask. Some of my e-mail is downright mean. But when I'm done crying my fat head on my big pillow, I usually learn something, as I did in that thread. I'm not certain he is new as opposed to being new to the BS line though (?).

That is not to say that we shouldn't lighten up a bit, just saying that it happens.

Or....

"Clearly, some of the *Striders* are not BOS heat-treat stamped"

Cos from what I read that Paul Bos does the heat treating for Buck where the Buck Striders and all the other Buck knives that he oversees the HT on.

And this issue was regarding a Strider knife... not a Buck Strider knife..

This right or am I missing something?

I THINK HE SAID , CLEARLY SOME OF THE BUCK STRIDERS ARE NOT HEAT TREATED.

Yes.. but the question at the top of the thread is...

Q: Are ALL Strider Folders (NON-Buck) Heat-Treated?

maybe I am missing something... goes from Non Buck to Buck and then all over the place.

YOU ARE RIGHT. I'M A LITTLE CONFUSED TOO. I CAN'T BELIEVE ANY OF THEM ARE NOT HEAT TREATED.

Perhaps its just that he is confused about Strider and Buck/Strider.

Never mind... move along nothing to see here ;)

Guys I think I answred there question on the other Forum. ALL Blades are heat treated. All Buck blades are heat treated here in there Factory, that are made here, And the blades that are made off shore are heat treated also. They were given our process. Also all Strider blades are heat treated, There customs are done by me, and there others are done at Certified Metal Craft, A Co. I started back in 1969. Hope this clears things up. Paul Bos
