Please see the above thread. While I am not sure that I agree with the member's comments while in the store, i do feel that the store owner is way off of the mark charging $99.99 for a Delica knife and I wonder how others feel about this. As I say in that thread, I see it as an extortionate price, based on the fact that he thinks that folks will pay htat in his store rather since I suspect thare aren't a lot of competitors around his area.

That's sad, especially the way that he treated potential customers. If I had been treated like that, I would also let it be known and spread the word to avoid that jerk at all costs. As far as being able to charge sky high prices because of limited availability of that product, the internet offers relief. If you own a cpu or if you live in a remotely urban environment, you should have no problem getting to a cpu and ordering on the net. If you don't have a cpu, sometimes, you can use a friends or even the local library's. As far as jerks like that, let 'em go out of business. They deserve it.

For me, the pricing gives me less concern than misrepresentation. While I agree that for me twice retail is too high, for some people it's still a good deal.

What DOES bother me is when those selling, misrepresent what they're selling. There's a certain auction site that a dealer consistently lists their knives as "Dive Knives" or "salt water" knives when they really aren't. Could be the person doesn't know, could be they are trying to sell knives anyway they can.
