I'll do a side-by-side comparison of the 110 and The Manix on a walk through some woods whenever it comes.

Walking though the woods with both a 110 and a Manix, you better wear strong suspenders to keep your britches up! :D

I'm a big guy - as it is the Manix seems to disapear in my back pocket. Doesn't bother me when I drive or anything. I'll probably be putting the buck in the same place whenever I have the pleasure of receiving it.

I need to quit reading the 110 stories thread and thinking about when I'll get mine, and go send off the Spyderco. :P

Got the 110 in. Tang is marked Buck 110 U U.S.A. Which year would this make it fall under?

Another question. There's a lot of smelly brown goop in my knife, grease I'd imagine. The opening action feels really stick. I've been opening and closing it a lot to try and break it in. Should i wipe this stuff of, or leave it? Should I lubricate the pivot area?

I saturate the really dirty greasy ones with WD40 and take a tooth brush after them. Work the blade real good and use the WD40 spray as needed..

I have also used the hand cleaner on them that doesn't have the pummice in it, well, ok... I have used the one with pummice also... Tooth brush it really good, Rinse it under as hot a running water as you can stand to hold and work th blade.

It will wash the pummice out ok... After I do that , I take the WD40 to it again.
Blowing it out with the air compressor when you think you need to...

To finish it off after the blade is smooth... I hijacked some sewing machine oil.
Sssshhhhhhhhh,,,dont tell the wife....... A little dab will do ya....

I've been using spit and a rag so far and I've got most of it out, might try the WD40 later tonight. I just need to find some oil to lube it with afterwards. Thanks for the tips.

Well,,, ok,,, here is another tip that you might find works, maybe not all the time, but does on a lot of things...

I keep a can of spray Lysol sitting here on my mess table. Believe it or not, that stuff will clean a lot of things other than bathroom smells...

It will take ball point pen off of formica, corian, counter tops, floors, black streaks come up easy, and....gunk out of knives...usually.... Bag of q-tips and a roll of paper towels is standard eqpt. So far I haven't ruined anything using it.

A friend didn't believe me one time as I stood at the kitchen counter scribbling with a ball point on the counter top... Lysol worked

Was at daughters a few weeks back, noticed green stain on the back of a light oak wood chair. She said it was food coloring and she couldnt get it off, tried everything... Lysol worked...... Daddy is still a genius... :D

Got a favoriet shirt with ballpoint ink on the pocket? Its ruined anyway....try lysol...

Thats weird, that 110 came from me. The only lube I ever used on it was 3 in 1 oil. Thats all I've used on any of my 110s. This is a mystery to me.
