  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Interesting Tour of Mad Dog's Shop

I'm not a fan of Mad Dog knives at all, but the tour site is very well worth a look. Tim worked hard to put it together, obviously. There are tons of pics, and the going is slow if you are using a 28.8 connection like I am (poor bastard!), but it's worth the time. It's a nice look at high-volume, but non-automated production. I wanted to get an explanation of the "glowing temper line" that is apparently visible through the hard chrome, but couldn't find anything on it. The section on Mad Dog's early work is pretty cool, too. You actually get to see some knives that don't look like everything else he makes, which is a nice change. Overall this is one of the best knife sites I have seen to date, mainly due to the volume of great content, rather than flashy graphics and sound effects (although i do like the sounds on Cold Steel's website whenever the mouse goes over one of the folders!).
