I just noticed that my 15" AK as heavier than the 16.5" WWII and the 20" Sirupati that I scored yesterday.

Specs on WWII: Perfect 16.5" 22 ounce WWII

Specs on Sirupati: 20 inch 23 ounce Sirupati by Bura

Which puts both at just under 1.5 pounds. Where as my 15" AK weights in at around 1.7 pounds. Interesting or what?

As far as kuks go I'd say that the best all around would be a 15" AK. It is also the best "beginner" kuk, at least last time I read through all of the experts opinions.

The "short" length, thickness, balance, and the fullers all allow for the most abuse absorbing qualities in the most minimum yet practical size of package. It also chops really and carries well.

There are better knives here and there for this and that...but I think the 15" AK has the best all around characteristics.

Of course I have only handeled a YCS once, and a Berk Special never, so if you have differing opinions I would like to hear you.

My BAS is 24 ounces and my 18in Chit is only 21. I have a chart that shows the highest and lowest weights I've seen for each khuk type, the range is huge. Part of what makes khuks so interesting is that each and every one of them is unique in shape, length, and weight.

Any chance of putting that chart up on the Cantina? I would be interested in having a look at it.

I'd bring all of mine into work to weigh on our digital postal scale, but my co-workers would have a hissy-fit if they saw. ;)

but on the plus side, they'd probably be too scared to say anything:)

Actually the ones in the mailroom would probably want to buy them from me.:)

Idle thought of the day:
Leatherman Micra scissors are excellent for cutting away dead, blistered skin on one's hand ... Now who's ready for dinner?:barf:

They're not digital, but most office supply stores have postal scales that are very reasonable.
I think the scales I bought were less than $10.00 by a few cents. They weigh up to five pounds and are also handy for the odd large manilla envelope people send out.
They will also work fairly well in place of food scales for people who have to diet occasionally.:)
Anyone should be able to find a reason to justify these scales.;)

Bill weighs the khuks that come in from Nepal on an antiquated postal scale that still seem to be pretty accurate. ;)

Just don't be too occupied with getting ultra accuracy like with powder scales.

Of course we know why you want that quick dampening and the wide range on the scale.

( Besides wheighing khuks you know how long it takes to dribble the last few gains into the 50 Browning case. )

But others might imagine you are packing small baggies with herbal or chemical self medication without a doctor's Rx. For sale even!

Yeah, with khuks you need something more substantial than the little hand held scales that weigh in ounces/grams that you hold in your hand.*** Let alone an expensive triple beam.;) :p

***(although they might work for kagas katnes.)
Getting down to a quarter ounce is kinda gettin' extreme for khuks.:D
And it's a dayumed good thing khuks aren't sold by the weight in the baggie. :p

Face it, we're all khuk junkies here. :p ;)

And that's also why nobody complains when I take 13 items through the express checkout aisle. ;)

NOBODY thinks it's strange that Wildmanh is playing with the khuks that he hasn't received yet?

troubled, very troubled.

Kis, you're right, that certainly should have been noticed. I can only offer in my defense that I've got a housefull of 8-10 year-old boys (6) who are here for a sleepover.

Maybe Uncle Bill would take pity on me, and email me a case of Heineken. PPPPllllllleeeeeeeaaaaaasssssseeeeee!!!!
