How many basic gun safety rules did he brake?

Pretty much all of them. Moron should count himself lucky it was just his foot.

There has been a case where a deputy was doing a similiar demonstration to school kids and shot a 6th grader in the head and killed him in front of an entire class.

You would think these guys of all people would have better training?????

i thought that video was a fake, i thought it was staged to show kids how dangerous they can be.... i guess i just didnt think that anyone could be that stupid. now im laughing!

This guy was a total moron. he is lucky he didnt tap some poor kid in the face. He should be happy he and everyone else was alive despite his actions. All his lawsuit will do is show the world what an idiot he is.

Anyone can make a mistake, but no one should ever point a gun at a human (except of course for obvious reasons).

Demonstrating with a loaded weapon can lead to a stupid mistake, but as long as an ABSOLUTE is to never point the gun at a person, nobody gets shot.

This guy has been mishandling his weapon for a long time, he just ran out of luck that day.

Thanks for sharing that. Talk about keeping your composure. He only lost it for a few seconds before following up on how that shot was a perfect example of how accidents happen.
It is not a wonder why he was the one teaching gun safety instead of working on the field.

Here's the actual NBC coverage, online: http://www.nbc5.com/news/8698552/detail.html

I decided to go through the images/slideshow. The reporters, reporting for NBC, declare that Lee Paige, the DEA agent: "In the video, he points the gun in the air and pulls the trigger. The firing pin clicks, but the gun does not go off."

Typical sheeple/liberal reporters.... What they report to be Paige holding his Glock in the air and pulling the trigger is actually Paige pointing the gun in the air and dropping the slide...chambering a live round.

Apparently, before shooting himself, when Paige steps off-screen, he clears the action by pulling the slide back and he locks the slide open. What he has forgotten to do is also to pull his magazine out of the mag well...so, when he points his Glock into the air, and drops his slide, he chambers a nice new fresh round....

Glocks might be ordinarily very safe...unless the person holding it isn't thinking too hard....

Lee Paige says that the DEA, allegedly releasing the video on the Internet, has ruined his career. He ruined his own career. Having the video online is just a good example that some folks either don't know enough about firearms, or, that having great familiarity with their duty arm may make even the best LEOs careless.

During the Today Show interview with Matt Lauer, last week, both Paige and his lawyer were sitting down. It makes me wonder if a point-blank .40 S&W round, in either his thigh or foot, hasn't permanently disabled him, and his suing of the DEA isn't just a way to make some money....
