That doesn't sound any different from filter bottles that have been available for years. A new brand, maybe....

My only qualms with any system like that arises from "dipping" into the source water - inevitably, contaminated water can get to the mouthpiece from the outside... Even though this one has a cover for the nipple, dunno if I'd trust it...

Joeshred, good point about contamination from dipping, apparently neither the inventor OR FOX News had thought of that!
