Interesting wetterlings info

It was this review that led me to buy a Wetterlings LFA instead of the Gransfors. I am happy with that decision.

me too, I must confess, I never gave much thought to ax design or finesse until I read Mors Kochanski, but the wetterlings fits the bill and chops better than I ever knew an ax could great ax!

I just went for the Bruks axe based manly on the fact that I liked the company a little more. Im sure both arent half bad though:)

Thanks for the article

Heres a pdf I found by old jimbo whose opinion i truly respect as he seems to know more about axes than i ever will.
Review is actually not by Old Jimbo. It is from former "Outdoors Magasine" website.
OJ's only hosting it.
The guy who wrote the review actually has no clue about axes and found in another review that the thick Roselli chopped better than GB.

Doesn't mean that a Wetterling isn't as good if not better then a GB but those reviews aren't worth much attention.

I have an old Norlund which seems to have a nicely shaped edge. anyone have any experience with these?

Yeah some of the reviews on the old Outdoors website were fantastic and others like the Roselli one you mention sort of puzzled me.

I got a Valiant Golok based on how great they were mentioned to be in a review there.

The ones I have are great for small brush and excellent on grasses and other non woody plants but for heavy chopping on hardwoods I found the Valiant edges chip and roll fairly easy and also the partial tang design causes stress on the back of the handle when the blade meets something really hard and can cause the horn to crack.
