Forgive me, but I searched for an older post with this info and couldn't find one.

I am flying to Panama on Monday and would like to bring a folder with me.
Does anyone have any info on how or what rules there are about bringing it with me, without mailing it to myself?

I will be there two weeks and I doubt it highly if I can make it that long without my steel.

thanks,

-mikey p.

I've never been to panama so I do not know what the laws are like when you get there. In transit you are usually ok with knives in checked baggage. Never carry on and do not bring anything you couldn't bare to lose. Things go missing in transit.

For international flights I bring some of my favorite budget knives. Good steel I'm happy to have with me, but not broken up about if something happens in transit. I usually take half a dozen or so, and put them in my checked luggage. Never any problems to date.

Just a follow up. Was in Panama for 11 days. Brought a cheap Kershaw. No problems. There and back.
I sure missed my ZT and my Spydies.
Also, Panama has almost no knife laws, so I was drooling over the OTFs in the shopping malls. Especially knowing I could never get those through customs. :(
