as of late I;ve been interested in acquiring trad styled knives used by working class folks around the world.. i n other words low cost working folding knives, that put function over form
example might be
mercator cat knife
Opinel
douk douk
svord peasant
Aitor castor
Sodbuster
okapi
etc

other than those mentioned can you reccommend any others?

Regards, RR

try searching the forum with keywords like 'regional', 'work' and things like that.
besides the ones already listed theres fairly recent threads about a spanish taramundi, some italian patterns and a friction folder from austria which i cannot remember the name of right now.
might also look into the higonokami from japan.
the big difficulty on many of these items seems to be finding them in the united states. lol

"Ismet Yetiskul" from Turkey
"Huasito Parralino" from Chile
Pattada from Italy
Mikov from Czech
Imacasa from El Salvador
Trattenbacher Austria

The Japanese Carpenter knives are really rudimentary friction folders. The ones I have are branded Hignokami. They might not be your cup of tea, however they are interesting nonetheless.

In the Netherlands the "Herder". Sodbuster pattern made in Solingen by one of several Herder factories.

France has many reginal working knives
