Interpretation of a bowie knife.

Hi folks.
Last week I finished my interpretation of a bowie knife.
Meanwhile it arrived at the customer and now it is time to show some photos of it. :)

overall length: 316mm damascussteel
blade length: 200mm
handle: Mammoth Ivory
weight: 632g

Wow, that is impressive.

What was the procedure to make such an awesome blade?
 
Another incredible piece! I was happy to find that your website was in German. I foolishly went there looking to spend money I don't have.

Keep posting though, your creations are pure joy to look at!

Oh, yes. I'm sorry. It was an oversight, when I choosed the wrong language. :)
I have corrected it: Mammoth ivory.

I started forging the damascus steel in the fire with help from the power hammer. When the steel got ready I started forging the
knife combined by hand and the power hammer.
After the annealing process, the steel got it's rough form by the belt sander. After that I used my main tool - the file - for gaving the steel it's shape. :)
