I missed out on those nice knives Baba had up for sale or trade but I did have some nice Queens that I had accumilated in years past and sent him an email that I'd be willing to trade if he had some more Bucks he was willing to let go.

He did and we made a trade. For my part I received four knives:
- a NIB 2007 110; of interest is that it has a S30V blade with the standard year stamp and Bos' stamp on the right side and satin finish. Its brass and Obeechee wood. The sheath is black and the box is a Black & Yellow with a cat# for a Bass Pro 110. Interesting combination. I'd love to hear you guys speculate on it.
- a NIB 25th Annv. 110 and 112. Just beautiful 1986 knives with NS and great Ebony. I love the blades with their commerative etching.
- a NIB 2 dot 112 from late 70s. I already had one of these in the collection but its hard for me to pass on mint 2 dots.

So, what's the story on the S30V Obeechee wood 110?:)

That sounds like a great trade and I like the options on that bass pro 110. I'll keep my eye out. The used 25th I saw sold, darn.... You did well.

Was it not well before 2007 that Buck stopped doing S30V blade replacements in standard knives? I wish they would drop an S30V blade into a 1975 110 of mine with some of the best ebony I've ever seen...

Here are the two 110s from the trade.

Back in Sept. (or so) Buck had a Factory outlet sale. They had TONS of knives for sale to clear out extra stuff. They did alot of "build out" knives. Your S30V 110 sounds to be one of them. They came in a standard frame with the satin finish S30V blade. That is where all the weird strider FB knives and the Bg42 vanguards came from as well. They used left over parts to build out any knives possible. (pretty much) I hope this helps!

What does "build out" mean? I've seen that phrase before, but I thought it meant an outside modification.

Buck looks at the different parts left from varous projects and then builds compleat knives. There is only a few made in that confereration..As few a 4 or 5 to mabe 20 or 30...It could be as simple as just a different blade to a compleatly odd knife..Samples of blade treatments not put into production are really rare..I consider all build-outs odd/rare and worth going for..I see verry few 112's and a lot of 110's and other models.
