Howdy!
I would like to salute the kind folks in this forum and introduce myself as well.
I have this Schrade Scrimshaw for some time now, got it in a trade from a forum member. Although she has seen some use, for some reason I never got to share any pics with you guys.
It had the original etching when I got it which was quickly covered by a patina.
I decided to remove it yesterday since it was very uneven. Used 600 and 1000 grit sandpaper and this is how things turned out:

Oh yeah! They can take on a sweet edge, that's for sure.
Used it to skin a few rabbits and process a pheasant, it goes through skin and flesh like through butter. :D
 
Good looking knife. The scrimshaw looks to be in good shape still. Think you did a good job on the blade but I am not a patina lover.

I'm not a great patina fan either, but 1095 takes on one pretty fast.
The patina on mine was very uneven, that's why I removed it.
