Flavio Ikoma is a full-time maker and has been making knives for almost ten years now.
Although he can make most anything the customer desires - from automatic folders to sword canes, not to mention his famous small fighters - he is now specializing in liner lock folders, like this one, wich has a 440C blade, anodized titanium liners, bolsters and clip and carbon fiber handle slabs. he is a very picky maker and - in my opinion, after eight years working with all Brazilian makers - is our best maker today. some forumites who saw his job at the Blade Show know what I mean.
Best of all: his prices are incredible! You have to see it to believe!

I bought this beauty at the Blade Show.

More importantly, Ivan and Flavio are real gentlemen above and beyond their knifemaking abilities.

That tanto is great, how much did it cost you?

Thanks for your interest, gentlemen.
Hello, Blues. i was wondering how long would it take for you to show up.
Regarding the folder, it costs US$ 250,00 and delivery time is 3-4 months. A simpler version, with G-10 handles and no bolsters, would cost around US$ 200,00.
Judge, that tanto was made to be taken to the Blade Show last year. I have a very similar blade, made of the same steel, unmounted - it will cost around US$ 350,00 afetr Flavio finishes it.
Regarding dealers, you can see mauro Machado´s site (www.taymoknives.com). It is in English and has a number of knives of other Brazilian makers offered there, but no knives by Flavio at this moment.
If soemone wish to place an order, e-mail me or call him.
Best regards

P.S.: I´ll be posting a drawing of another of his folders later today.

I should add that Flavio tried to match the wood grain to the damascus pattern - very successfully indeed.
