Pig sticker, porcine poker, you get the idea.

One of few remaining items on my Bucket List is to go hog hunting. Can't go hog hunting with just any knife, and all Beckers aren't pointy enough for the task. So what's wrong with rolling your own?

Introducing the BK-PS:

A handful of scale and spacers:

Hey! Where did the logo go? (don't mind the split wood)

Love me some smooth butt! :D

It's real easy. Just start out with a stock Becker and carve away anything that doesn't look like a PS! :D

But what model did I start out with...?

DuraCoat = Tactical Coyote. Whenever I hear that I can't get the image of Wiley Coyote and the Acme Tactical Company out of my mind... :D

Niiice. That one's pretty stabby, and the scales look great.

The one thing that the standard Beckers aren't great at is thrusting accurately. The handle is too straight and the point is too high. But I've found that I can still make the thrust work by choking down on the handle in a three-fingered grip and tucking the pommel into the middle of the palm. This brings the point down and makes thrusts more accurate, not to mention adding another inch or so to your reach. This is a grip that Jim Keating recommends for knives like this, and it seems to work just fine. I see that you've already carved away the headache-maker to facilitate just such a grip, too. Very cool.

Great job as usual, K-9. You gotta go out now and practice your stabbin'. :D

Wow K9 that thing is awesome!

I need to see pictures with that stuck in a pig.

I beleive this also deserves the moniker stabnificent :D truly excellent work

Really sweet job! I love the scales.

Not trying to rain, but have you seen the bk9 hh?

I want to go hog hunting too one of these days.
Some newer folks probably don't know Camillus made a Hog Hunter version of the 9, which is basically a Camillus 9 with a sharpened swedge.
Mine's stashed back until I actually get to take it hunting.

Man that's cool! I love how Beckers can be transformed to be other kinds of knives in the right hands.

I have. But just a sharpened swedge and a name on a box does not a pigsticker make... a full width -9 could hardly be refered to as "stabby".

Not to mention making authorities everywhere have strokes because of the "double edges"...

Nicely done K9! Hope you get to put it to its intended use soon.
