His name is Kirby, and he's about 10 months old now. We've actually only had him for about 3 months now. We're not quite sure what he is. The vet seems to think he's part Bassett hound and part Pit Bull, and I'm inclined to agree. We were actually trying to find another dog when we came across him at the animal shelter. Out of all the dogs we looked at, from the county shelter to the SPCA, he was the only one that didn't bark at all. That pretty much sold me on him right there.

He's proven to be a rather intelligent dog, learning how to sit and shake rather quickly. He also showed me that he knew how to give a high five, which I found rather amazing since neither my girlfriend nor I have ever tried to teach it to him. It's just hard not to like the little fella.

He's a great looking pup. If the vet is right about the breeds he should be intelligent. The Bassett in him may make him a tad stubborn but they are great dogs.

I bet that one will be an acrobatic frisbee dog. Give him lots of love, and he will return it 10x.

'Kirby' is a perfect name for a dog like that! I'll bet you get many happy years from him.

Very cool of you!

he looks very happy and content, I'm sure there will be some fun time ahead for all.

Congratulations. I really do celebrate when a dog gets snatched from a shelter.

Just awesome.
I hope he brings you and yours much happiness.

Kirby's probably one of the friendliest dogs I've ever dealt with. Heck, even our cats bully him around a bit. He's also one of the fastest I've seen. I can't even begin to catch him when we're playing outside. It's funny to watch him run though, because he tucks his tail up underneath him. It's almost like he's trying to streamline himself.
