Hi all

My name is Nate and I am new obviously

ANyways I kinda pick up a knife here and there but don't consider myself a collector. Although I never spend alot I am kinda cheap HAHA Only a few over $200.

So I am going to be heading over the road pretty soon. Honestly I seem to come off as a real mark. And being in truck stops every night isn't gonna make matters better. I hate to say it but I think I subconsiously encourage criminals to come after me. It would be nice to have something I can carry all the time and be 50 state legal.

I prefer to carry a balisong but you can see them from a mile away and cops will give me a problem. I do enjoy practicing with them though. I have cut myself more then once driving and twirling one of those around.

So I am hoping you guys can help me to pick a new knife for everyday use and self defense. I have a smith and wesson swat II coming in. It look legal but may not be. Also not sure how comfortable it will be. May not fit in my pocket very well.

But yeah I need something slim with a clip that opens fast and preferably with a half serated blade. I also prefer a metal handle with a frame lock.

Thanks

50 state legal, the blade would have to be sub 3(?) inches.

I suggest Front Sight's HAK (Hide Away Knife). It's pretty sexy.

well, he wants to twirl it while driving.......

get a small sebenza from the for sale section!

Sounds like a Kershaw Leek 1660ST. Assisted opening (but not a switchblade), metal handle, partially serrated, and a frame lock. And only around 40 bucks.

But for self defense, I would get a KA-BAR TDI. Only 35 bucks or so, and a great design for self defense (much better than many bigger knives that try to seem like good SD knives). It is small enough to be legal most places.

the emerson combat folding karambit packs about as much punch into a 2.5" folding blade as possible.

Is the HAK actually legal in all 50 states? I'm curious myself. It is, afterall, a fixed blade. It's so innovative that I feel like the authorities don't really know what to make of them yet. I feel like if a california cop catches you with a concealed HAK they'd take your ass right to prison, whereas if a Mississippi cop catches you with it, they'd just laugh and do the ol' "You call that a knife?" routine.

I suspect turboman has disappeared!! This is the only post he has made. If you are still here, have you chosen a knife?
