Good evening Gents, new to this camp fire, but hope to get aquainted after a bit. Been squating off in the dusk watching for a bit & decided it was time to come on in and say hello.
Grew up in an outdoor family with ties to the land. Still go back to the home place in SD every year for pheasant hunting & reminicing.
Been buying, using and loosing knives for most of my years. First purchase was a 34OT. Biggest purchase I could imagine! NO idea where that one went...
Now enjoy a hole variety of american ground steel (even a tiny bit from the old world).
Started learning a tiny bit about the making of blades (had the pleasure of having Vince Evans as a neighbor before he returned to Hawaii) and have even ground a 1/2 dozen so far.
Personal preferences go towards the old style pocket knives (esp. blades that show they have been used by hard working men) and hunting knives.
God Bless, Matt s
