I started making knives 2 years ago (October 2011), and since then I have finished about 20 or so. I'm a slow worker, since I'm a full-time engineering student. Being a student soaks up a lot of my time already, but I'm also the fabrication director for a really active club there where we design, build, and compete with a small scale formula style car. I'm usually at school 7 days a week from morning until night.

I have really big aspirations for knives. I love it, but also hate it at the same time. It's incredibly frustrating and tiresome, but for whatever reason I'm driven mad to improve as much as I can. In the future I dream of going full-time, but there are so many different possibilities that I'm never exactly sure.

Here are some of my knives in chronological order:

Very nice progression Don. Keep doing what you're doing and looking forward to seeing more

For being new-ish you have really developed a following in the Kitchen Knife world.
The knives are looking great and each new one seems to be a little better.
Keep up the good work Don.

Thanks guys!

Salem I knew that was one you probably would've liked :) That one was actually from an old 1900's Sabatier blank forged in France. I just did the grinding, HT, finishing, and handle on it.

Thanks everyone!

On the new big red one, the tang is skeletonized and tapered. The other knives just have holes drilled in them. I wanted the handle as light as possible on Big Red and I think I got it. For a fairly light knife, ~200g, the balance is where I aimed it to be:
