Hello all,
Allow me to introduce myself. You know my husband, David Broadwell, knife maker extraordinaire! I have only been in his world for 4 years and just in the last 2 have I decided to dabble in some leather working. With David's experience and Paul's expertise as my guide, I'm starting to catch on. I enjoy it except for when I don't. I could use a few more hours in each day to practice but with our 10 kids and other work, leather usually gets pushed to the back burner.
I'm glad to be able to glean from this forum as David has been a member here for several years but only recently (by strong urging of a certain expert and friend) has decided to become active again and now with me as his side kick.

I am including my most recent accomplishment, just shipped to Denmark yesterday. It is made from Wicket & Craig 8oz chestnut. David designed it as he does all of my work. He is the artist in this relationship. I just follow a pattern. It is made, per customer's specifications, to house 2 chefs knives.

The oil was still drying of course and I added more to the underside as the pics revealed the space where it would not have been oiled on the inside due to the "sheath" part being in the way. David gave me an idea of how to creatively "emboss" the strap as well as the inner sheath. It was fun to do something a little different.

That is all for now - thanks, Nita of NB Designs, a subsidiary of Broadwell Studios LLC

Boys, Nita has come a very Looonnngg way in two years. Her current work is just fantastic and I hope we can encourage her to post some photos of here sheath work.

Welcome, Nita. Great looking work.

As an FYI, please click here and select your K/C/SP membership to set your color correctly. The software is a bit wonky and makes you do it manually.

Welcome Nita, that's some gorgeous work! Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff in the future!
