Hello all

I have been a fixed blade guy for most of my knife years. But, recently I have become more and more interested in folders. Kershaws and ZT's have always piqued my curiousity. So, after lurking in your sub forum for some time, I am making my presence known with my first post!

I have been reading the rules required to become an "official" member of the order of Kershaw Gentelmen (hangoutery). And, I am working on getting the points required to get one of those cool signatures. I have had an old Kershaw for years. I don't even know what it is. I recently bought a Junkyard Dog, Rake, Echelon, and Leek with the CPM/D2 blade. Yea, I went a little crazy. I will post pics when I get a chance.

As an active duty Air Force member for the past 27 years, I would like to respectfully make a suggestion regarding membership in the KAI hangout. Perhaps, you could give consideration for military service. I did not see that in the official pointage. And, since this is the 4th of July, maybe you could ponder my suggestion.

All the best

I'm am very sure the Janitors would be more than happy to help out a serviceman. Thanks for it as well!

As a janitor, I think that's a great suggestion. I'm sure we can help out an outstanding member of the armed services!
Glad to have you in the forum and congrats on the purchases!
As a small token of my gratitude please accept a recommendation point from me.

Welcome, You absolutely have a recommendation from me! Thank you for your service!

Thanks for your service! Count me in as well for a recommendation point. I too was helped out by a few members for a few recommend points, so I'll pass it on!

Welcome aboard. Thank you for your service and you definitely get a point from me.

And welcome to the KAI sub forum, happy you finally posted. Thank for your service.

Well on my part as a thank you for your service please feel free to use me as a recommendation for an extra point. Looking forward to having you around.

I to would be happy to recommend a point. While I am not a janitor, I am sure non of them would take issue with that. I too think it is an excellent suggestion. Thank you for your service, and have a happy Fourth of July!

Thank you to all of you who offered recommendatons! When I made my suggestion, I was not soliciting or expecting any member recommendation. But, I am very appreciative. I will be retirering in 5 months. That will be 28 years for me and, at my rank, that is as far as I can ride this AF train. It will be a sad day, but I do look forward to moving back to Idaho where my wife and son are. So, again, thanks to all. I will try to always check FAQs before posting a question. And, when I do post a question, I hope it's not a stupid one!
This sub forum appears to be a well run, and friendly place. I look forward to making friends.
Thanks again

Congrats on a great career. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or pm one of us janitors. We'd be more than happy to help a brother out!

Hey all
Again, thank you all for your recommendations and immediately making me feel welcome. And I just was reviewing the Order of KAI signup thread (again) and noticed that you did, indeed, add pointage for military service. Thanks so much! Not just for me, but for all of my present and former service members!
I am thankful for being welcomed and being made to feel at home already. But, I am sure that I will be having to ask questions.
Thanks again
