Hey guys, I just thought I'd introduce myself, as I'm starting to move from the world of lurking into the world of posting on this forum. My name's Travis, and I'm 16. I live in British Columbia, Canada, and absolutely love it up here. I've been collecting knives for three years now, and I've just recently gotten the HI khukuri bug, so now I'm always looking for the screamin' deals on this forum... I don't have any khukuris as of yet, but I do have an 18" AK, a Bilton, and a BAS in the mail or soon to come... I can't wait to do some choppin'. :D Yeah, so anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know you folks a little better, and I'll see ye around.

Welcome aboard, Travis:)

The Cantina is a fine place with a lot of great guys with a bunch of useful information about khuks, sharpening, philosophy, and just life in general. You'll find a pretty broad range of regulars here as well. From youngsters such as yourself, 20-somethings like myself, and fellas that have more wisdom than i could hope gain in 5 lifetimes. Dr.s, Lawyers, blue collar, white collar. The khukuri is the great equalizer and all are welcome here. Uncle Bill certainly leads by example. This is a great place to just hang out with friends. Thanks for posting and sit a spell. You'll be glad you did.

There are more....;)

(not me, of course.... )

Welcome, Travis!

i is from T.O.

mean streets of Yonge. watch out for those rabbid yuppies in 2K suit's, they can be mighty dangerous before their 8 am caffine fix.

i reckon..

:D

I'll check in for Nova Scotia, the dear know better than to be in the streets and I know better than to be in the woods, without a khuk.

Hey Travis...

Welcome.

Many of us are 16 years old as well; sadly, chronologically, we are multiples of it, given to "I remember the time...when...."

Nice Introduction, nice age. Hope it is treating you well. Those years were among the best of my life.

Be well, safe, and happy. See if you can use wisdom more than I did back then.

Welcome!

I was fifteen when I found this place, and almost sixteen when I started posting. Sounds like you've got the beginnings of quite a nice collection! Let us know what you think when they get there. :)

Welcome everybody. Can a 16 year old recieve a knife in the mail by himself? Parents have to help, I'm thinking.

Welcome to the Psycho Ward, Travis!

If you are not nuts yet you soon will be hanging around the likes of these misfits (I being the only exception of course)!

:D

Yeah... Well, about the knives ordered off the net, I usually put it in my name, but, hm, how should I say this without sounding like a spoiled child? I use my parents' credit card to pay for the knives... That just verifies that either I'm a lousy thievin' sixteen-year-old scoundrel, or I have my parents' permission... You guys can be the judges of that one. Nonetheless, my parents don't buy my knives... I always pay them back promptly... They're fine with my hobby just as long as they don't have to shell out the money for the knives. Great to see more Canadians in here, then again, we're all human... Some of the time...

Hey Travis! Welcome aboard! I've been here just 8 months or so but it feels like a lot longer. This place kind of grows on you, but in a good way.

I loved all things sharp when I was 16 as well, but unfortunately didn't have the bread to buy them. Now that I'm older I guess I'm living my teen years all over again here at the Cantina, with all sorts of goodies coming up for sale almost daily.

If you haven't seen Uncle Bill's Deals of the Day, or Best Buys, or Yangdu's bargains and steals, hang around and keep your eyes open. You can snag some nice stuff at far below the "regular" HI we site prices, including some occasional items you won't even see there!

Welcome again, and see you around the Cantina!

Regards,

Norm
