Introduction

MIRACLE BLADES ARE THE CRAPPIEST KNIVES EVER MADE! They are hardened to 54 Rockwell, yet said to never get dull. I was given a set to try out and they are the biggest LIE I have ever seen. Yes, Yes, I am ashamed to admit I even touched one of these atrocities, but morbid curiousity got the best of me.

They were razor sharp out of the box, then went butter knife dull after I cut some air. Curisously, From what I researched everybody else's complaint was that they rusted, which would mean some actual carbon. They were uncomfortable, like holdint a lawnmover blade.

How dare you even speak the name of anything related to these pieces of metal or the bull crap the fat chef and his cohorts feed to stupid people.

I'm normally not one to make one feel unwelcome. . . .unles they are FOS liars.

Holy hell Jamesh Bond! way to tear into the fella...

i haven't seen something get cut down like that since i saw a comercial on tv once where a guy was cutting a sledge hammer with a knife, then cut through a whole tomato!

I hate to tell you James but how dare you jump onto him like that. Your opinion maybe as it it but there's no reason to say it the way you did. They may be crappy and uncomfortable but leave it at that. There are ways to tastefully display your opinion and then there's the way you did it.

Yes the guy is self promoting, but he is also wanting feedback from his customer base here. Whats wrong with that? Give him feedback but dont do it the way you did. I tend to agree with you on thier quality and have not yet handled a condor so I cannot speek about them. I

I read the original post and the tone of it was definitely that of spam, not of someone who was genuinely seeking feedback for a product. He claimed to have come across an ancient post asking who the heck he was, and began stumping his product from there.

If the product is lower than Frost/Ginsu, why be bashful about saying so? At least my son and I got a good laugh out of JB's response. I'm not looking for a fight here, just sharing my different opinion.

Oh I understand, I was fine with everything until "How dare you". I dont have a prob with you or JWB. I even commented that the guy was self promoting, which I do not agree with. If this person turns out to be a productive member of the forums and is not just peddeling his wares then great, if not then he deserves all the comments JWB made then some.

spam and trolling in the same thread. wow!

I was thinking the same thing!

Barabas, the guy claimed Micarcle Blades perform like the commercials say, with great customer satisfaction. That is a boldfaced lie both ways. The guy claimed he was the designer. That was probably a lie too. I would never treat an honest person who really just wanted feedback like that. Someone who says an inferior product is perfect is being distasteful. They aren't looking for feedback, they are promoting.

I am sorry my first post in years was so poorly recieved. I did not mean to offend any one. I am sorry my post seemed to be spam, but I guess I did not know any other way to answer the question of who I am and what I do.

For my design work I maintain a collection of over 3,000 knives and 350 axes, yet I still use the Mirical Blades in our kitchen. I think they are great for the price.

Yes, I hear there were some rusting problems with the first sets, but the seller will stand behind them 100%. The problem arouse when the maker did not follow specifications. Thier contract was cancelled.

Yes, the HRC is some what low. This is because the factory uses per-hardened SS; its a matter of economics. When I designed, years back, for Chicago Cutlery I learned that their orginal walnut handles knives were 53RC.

At the risk of getting my head cut off again, I would appreciate any feed back on the Condor knives, www.condortk.com, if any one has had a chance to use them. I am on my way today to the IWA Show in Germany, so I may not be able to get back to the forum untill some time next week.

Thanking every one for their comments,
Arlan

My intention is not to cut off heads.
I see falsities and I am calling them.

The first post said great customer feedback. The new one admits problems. Google Miracle Blade complaints, and you will indeed find numerous cases of inconsistent and nonexistent customer service, as well as performance complaints.

The first post said the blades are as good as they are said to be. The new one admits they are soft and will rust. The new one also says the sellers stand behind their claims 100%. How can this be when the blades cannot possibly physically achieve what the sellers say they will?

They story keeps changing, but the real facts speak for themselves.

We obviously spend a great deal of time on this forum talking about the merits of various knives, geometries, steels, ect. Arlan essentially admitted that he essentially designed a mass-market knife and had trouble with the factory. It was the first knife he designed.

He's obviously gone beyond that. I believe he made a throwing axe that was widely used in competition and won various awards.

He comes on this forum and posts personally, asking for advice on how to improve his products, he's neither spamming with shills nor bots, nor invading your inbox.

I've personally used his Condor throwing axe, and found it excellent for the price, and I will most likely buy other condor products which are quite unique and a good bargain. I've emailed him with suggestions for what he should make and he personally responded to me.

Now, you may have been angry at the infomercial, but let's not turn this into your soapbox to express your anger at the results of capitalism.

I read this forum a lot and rarely post, but found it necessary to, when I found people being so uncivil to someone who's made quite an effort to reach out to our community.

Call me a shill, whatever, some of you are jerks, and what I say here I'd just as easily say to each in person, and for some reason I doubt you'd reciprocate.

Point taken.

I reciprocate:
I wouldn't have posted an admitedly nasty response if I didn't feel justified in doing so. I felt the general community was being lied to by what was said in the first post. I also believe a professional designer "who's made quite an effort to reach out to our community" would post more than 6 times in 2 years if he really wanted input. 4 of those posts were either spam or promotion.

There have been times when I didn't care for the way people presented themselves or their ideas, and I told them so. But it should be possible to disaagree without being disagreeable, as the saying goes. Spending more time expressing outrage than pointing out flaws is ultimately counterproductive. It also contributes to a culture of incivility that degrades our conversations here.

His post was removed but his explanations could have been spurned without telling him in effect that he wasn't welcome here. It's not like he posts so much that he's a regular nuisance.
