Couple shots I took yesterday.

Upside down over Perdido Key, Florida / Gulf of Mexico:

Here's a bunch of noisy-ass blue jets: loud, but it's the sound of freedom:

Yes, it's the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show, live from Pensacola, Florida. More shots later this weekend.

parachute? inverted?

What happened to your plane

I'm "sure" nobody would jump out of a perfectly fine airplane would they? Yikes.

What did he tell you about urine and vommit on his 15,000 dollar canopy????

The Blue Angels rock:)! We actually got them to come to our Freedom Festival two years in a row, which i hear almost never happens. However, they were amazing to watch, and I didn't even go down to the river front. Their turn arounds were awesome enough:) Those guys are really cool. Even when they aren't putting on part of the show as they turn around, they do some pretty fancy tricks over the city so that everyone can enjoy them.

A quick funny story on how the Blue Angels and other large WWII planes caused me to laugh very hard at my wife's ranting. The house my wife and I bought sits in a little cookie-cutter neighborhood fairly close to the airport. It's a small airport, so generally you don't notice the puddle jumpers coming in and taking off that much from inside the house. Well, my wife to be at the time did not know this. We bought the house in April, and I moved right in. She had graduated college out of state and moved back home in May. The Freedom Fest is at the end of June. I get a call from her at work nearly in tears the week of the activity.
"Jaker (her term of endearment for me), I think we made a bad choice buying this house. The planes are going over head and rattling the walls! The plates in the cabinets are shaking! What are we going to do!!?"

"Honey....what week is it?"

".... Ohhhhhhhh!"

"Yeah, those are B-52 bombers and fighter jets flying into the airport and turning around. They'll be gone by the end of the week, hun."

I still tease her to this day about that one:D

Vomit and urine... I work in an avation-support industry, Andy. Love aircraft and get to fly-work related.

Jake: a Blues air show is ALWAYS worth going, and this is their 60th anniversary show.

Shann: I was flying with the Delta Firebirds, an aerobatic team at the show. Aircraft is a 300 Extra, a hot little German stunt plane. After some rolls and a "hammerhead," the pilot just kept it inverted: got to shoot 130 pix while up there. Parachute harness keeps you snug in the seat. Absolute freakin' blast.

More air show pix: sorry, Imageclub ain't working this morning.

Tribute flight of F-86, A-10, F-4 and F-18. Nice on Veterans Day.

Firing pass from A-10 in back of Blues' F-18's.

Nighttime airstrike.
