Investing in knife companies

Anyone know of any cutlery or knife companies that are publicly traded? Anyone ever invested in anything like this?

I always wondered, there are so many custom makers who have huge backorder logs up to years long. They have tontake money upfront to fund their operation.

What if say I go up to one of these custom makers, with the years long wait list to invest? Lets say I go "I'll invest 1 million $s for some percentage of your business and the ensuing profits.

They could use that investment to upgrade and thus improve the speed at which they can fill their backorders and thus bring in money that wouldn't be possible without the investment.

Shouldn't this be in the Survive! Forum?
Joking aside, if they were publicly traded, their obligations would be to their shareholders and corner cutting would become rampant IME.

I don't think any of them really make enough money to be going public at this point in time, save for maybe Buck. Even so, going public with stock options opens is a big regulatory headache and doesn't have much payout unless you can get the public really interested. Given how under the radar knives are, I don't know if it would be of much help to anyone.

Sometimes I wouldn't mind having investors. Maybe I should go on Shark Tank; think they can turn me down at knife point? :P
