Found this one in the trading post today.

I still have a nasty case of anvilitis :D

If anyone has a clue on I.D. on this anvil I sure would appreciate it.

Wondering if someone hasn't just beaten down the Mouse Hole stamping. I dont see any numerals on the either side though.

It doesn't look like a mouse hole to me. not short and squatty enough.

Does it have a suare hole undewr the horn?
If it doesn't it looks more like a Vulcan or arm& hammer brand

I was going to say Vulcan or Arm & Hammer as well. Hmmm...

Are you sure it's that heavy? It doesn't look that heavy to me, but then again I am retarded.

it's a dudley, another british make, not a mousehole. (peter wrights where british as well) good anvils, wrought body and steel face. it's probably 1870's vintage from the shape.

He doesn't know what he's talking about, don't listen to him! LMAO ;)

I didn't realize that you actually bought it already. 175 isn't way off at all Mark. Looking at it again, it is bigger than I thought at first glance. I was thinking like 130.

175 is a great blade size (IMHO)!!!

I like the thick waste. A stout body is always the way to go when you're talking anvils. Now if we're talking women.... ;)

Good on 'ya Mark! Now let's see some pics of you forging on it. No need for nip slips (btw) :D
