First time I have ever seen one! A matching pair of 192s gold and flat on one side !!!!! They were new, but no box/shieth/paperwork. At first I thought they were gold plated customs and I started to get ALL excited.....The saleslady didnt know much not even origional list What did it cost for a IF above regular price ? are they a orphan????? Rare ? collectable?? They are a verrry striking pair!!! Does any body here tonite collect 192s ?? I might get them for my son and son-inlaw for Xmas.... Do you have to send it back to Buck to get sharpned??? Thanks ALL!

Wh4f collects those....he'll have some answers, I'm sure

:D

I love them! You can sharpen them yourself. Just the one side ONLY though ;)

I have a few of them some collect them and others use them. I prefer both.
They were more than a standard model, but if you watch they tend to go for less than a standard model does now. But that also can vary.

I guess they could be considered rare, but really they are a discontinued model. The 192 is still made but ther ionfusion process is no more.
I hope I helped!
Here's a few pics:

I am just slightly confused...One IS a 192 the other looks the same but is marked 692 BUT it has no gut hook ... year marks are different too,a backward c and a tiny m. In my cataloge 2006 the 692 has a gut hook.

Both have wood handles,191 691 are rubber The 692 should have a gut hook and it does not ..I did bring them home today!!!!!!!!!!

Figured Out ! The 192 is correct and is a 97. The other is a 96 and is a missstamp, 692 should be a rubber handle, this one is wood....How this would affect value I have no idea.Is it worth getting a letter from Buck? Both of the knives have been laying around the pawn shop for around 10 years! The hillbillys here didnt want to fool with no flat knife!

191 Wood handled gut hook (zipper) 691 is the rubber handled guthook (zipper)
192 wood handled Vanguard 692 rubber handled vanguard..

The bottom ion in my pic is also stamped 692, I have um, well, a couple of these. ;)
I believe Buck used some old 692 blades and mated them with the Rosewood handles for that model. They are actually quite common with the wrong stamp. I believe they tried to use up the remaining stock of those 692 ion blades any way possible?
The 2 in my top pic are actually Buck custom shop knives that never came to be. lots of variation in these ions!
Congrats on the score. Did you get them for a good price?

I think so,74.87 with tax for both. But no box, sheth,or paperwork....A closer look at the tang stamp shows they are 2000,2001 vintage.Ebay shows regular 192s going for 40-50 no listings for ion fusion models.I am gussing IF will add 10.00 or so to there value is that correct??? So a good buy but not a steal deal! The son and the son-inlaw will get them for xmas....What % of knives were IF in any patulire model ??? I think your the expert on Ion fusion Can you give all of us here a short discourse on IF knives and there values with a emphis on 110s ???? Inquiring minds need to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What the F????,

Sorry Bucksway...I guess we will need another decoder ring for you also;). I have no Idea what you are asking for in your last sentence!!!! I think you did ok with your purchase....about $30 each before tax...no sheath & no box. One day I'll add one of these to my collection. However, Jimbo always has a bid on them when I find one...LOL.

Good price!
I am not an expert by any means, I just really like them!
They made 3-4 models of 110 (that I know of) they were only made for a few years, I dont think most people really liked the new sharpening technique? Its super easy with a lansky, (if they ever needed to be sharpened :D)

Ionfusion/buckcote adding $10.00 to the value????? :(
Not always... I picked up the bottom (wood 692) for 55.00
I have bought most of the others for less than that... NIB.
The model 119's hold a better value, collectors seem to like them alot ;)
I will share a couple pics for ya ;)

The 110's are also more valuable to collectors (and users alike)

I am still missing the 110 that matches the bottom 119. Gold serrated blade...
Hope I helped a little.

Thanks Goose, I had tough times finding that!!

You always come through for us ;)

They also made them in 180 crosslocks, 192/692 vanguards, 191/691 zippers,
119 specials, 110's, 450 proteges...

I have a matched set of 110 and 119 Gold with the serrated blades. They are marked # of 750. How rare are they, and what are they worth??

There were 750 made so they are a little harder to find.

They are worth whatever someone is willing to pay. :D
