The wife just sent me this pic. Not bad for a smartphone camera.

Looks like all the free space in that town is in the canal. :)

I wonder how often someone backs their car into it ...

It reminds me of the San Antonio river walk a bit. I'm betting that SA has better mexican food than Amsterdam. :D :thumbup:

I was there June 2,3,4 & 5th, 1977. Saw were Anne Frank hide out during WW2, saw Rembrandt's Night Watch, Vincent van Gogh Self Portrait and so much other history. Of coarse CANAL STREET:D Love Holland!!!

The wife and son are renting bikes. The Anne Frank house is on the agenda tomorrow.

OUTSTANDING Bro!!! Y'all have fun? Did you take aboat ride out into the harbor and see the North Sea Wall? I'm jealous Bro I really loved it over there. The tulip fields were amazing and all of the wind mills. Be safe and enjoy the time with the family Brother.

I hope they are having fun. I have no interest in leaving the country. Too many things to hunt, kill , and eat out west. I hunt (sometimes twice a year) while the wife and son take trips like this. We have a family vacation once a year either in Key Largo, FL, or the High Country in NC.

Last Saturday August 3, we had Gay Pride in Amsterdam (wiki). Gay Pride and Queen's Day (wiki) are the biggest open-air parties of the country. The entire center of Amsterdam is one big open-minded party of tolerance. Here is a pic of the same church tower (Westerkerk) I took that night from the other side. Even this Protestant church had an LGBT flag hanging out!?! I (as a heterosexual atheist) was so surprised that I had to take a pic! With an iPhone 4 though.

I visited in my early 20s my buddy who accompanied me smoked for 36 hours straight caught bronchitis that stayed with him through our tome in London and back to NY. So much for self restraint. Whole I did partake of some smoking I thoroughly enjoyed the musuems and moules frites!

Has anyone visited the tulip farms?
 
She has a great eye and it's a very nice shot. The quality of the photo is about what I'd expect from an iphone 5 though...
