iPhone 6 Battery Life

I just got a used 6 and I'm a little concerned over the battery. I bought it second hand from a store and they battery life was awful and the phone would turn itself off every few minutes. I sent it back to them and they claimed to have replaced the battery. I'm not so sure that they did but there is no more loose battery rattle and it no longer shuts off so I guess they did something right. I got less than 5 hours use today. I am coming from a 6 plus so I'm a little spoiled battery wise but that's still seems atrocious. I have yet to turn off background refresh and I streamed my music via Bluetooth for maybe 30 minutes. Does this seem normal to y'all? I'm somewhat concerned but don't want to be too paranoid. Thanks

When you say "5 hours use", what kind of use? Watching streaming videos with a poor cell signal? Phone calls? Chatting on the face thing, and other such "social" time wasters? Chasing characters from a cartoon around town?

It is all relative. Check Settings/Battery for a listing of the top battery users on your device. There are plenty of articles detailing how to use less battery. All involve using less functionality of the device.

It was browsing the web, listening to music, Snapchat, and some videos. All were over WiFi and I had three bars of LTE. I contacted the merchant who I bought t from and they agreed to a refund and sent me a return label.

I have a 5S and when I first got it I had read about things to do in that version of the OS to keep it from using the battery too fast. I don't use the phone a lot and manage to get about 3 days or more from one battery charge. Then recently I noticed that it would drain the battery in less than one day. I did more research and started turning various things off in the OS. Then I found a web article written by a person claiming to be a previous Apple employee. That person said that the OS and software in the phone is not perfect and it is possible for a program to get stuck running in the background and use up a lot of battery. I shut off my phone and restarted it and it immediately went back to relatively long battery life.

I would suggest doing a "hard shutdown " and restoring as a new phone. A friend had similar problems and those things helped him.

My battery life was fine then, like yours, it would only last less than half of normal. What I found was that all of a sudden my email was constantly downloading messages and deleted messages would suddenly reappear days later. I just deleted the mail icon email and now just get my emails from Comcast and battery life is back to normal. I don't know if an update created the problem or not. Check how your email is functioning.
