iPhone Users - calendar/PDA functions?

Okay, I have no desire to buy the iPhone since I don't want a cellular phone, but Apple is releasing the iTouch iPod in a few weeks and I am REALLY tempted. I have a MacBook Pro so would sync it with the iTouch and was wondering about the "other" less publicized options on the iPhone like calendar, and contacts. How comparable are THESE TWO components to what you'd find on a PDA. They're the only things I really need from a PDA and would like to combine my PMP and PDA functions into one really cool unit...

on the itouch calendar. you can sync it with your calendar but you can't add any events from the itouch.... unbelievable.

pretty upset as i was going to use it and purchased a razr2 to replace the crap Q that i have. sometimes i just want to carry a smaller phone instead of carry around a brick... yes i consider teh q a brick since its so wide.

hopefully they'll reconsider and add it back or some third party apps will "fix" it.

I have the itouch on preorder with amazon but will likely cancel it (although i'm still getting two for my boys).

i understand that you can add contacts, just like on the iphone, though.
