iPod problems

I have some IPod issues I'm hoping someone can help me with.

This is an ipod classic, 120GB. New in January of '09.

I had to restore it, and wipe it clean because it became corrupted when itunes updated to the latest version.

Now, when plugged in, itunes says it is corrupt, and needs to be restored. I click on the restore, it goes through the motions, and says that it has been restored, do not disconnect, and when it restarts, itunes will recognize it.
This goes on over and over and over.

Any suggestions?

I have had it in disk mode several times, used both XP and Vista computers, and followed the tutorials on itunes to no avail.

Help!!!!

Thanks.

If you don't restore it and just disconnect and then reconnect does it still say it's corrupted?

I've had this happen a couple times when the cable did not make a solid connection. It could also be a bad cable or lint in the dock connector.

Thanks, everyone.

Ted, I have tried what you suggested, and it still shows corrupted.

I'm going to follow a few recommendations from the site BA recommended.

mike , try and let the battery drain fully dead , then recharge ipod , see if that helps

I have tried everything. Drained battery. restored several times on different computers. I have tried to format it from my computer, and it won't do it. iTunes has tried to resore it, and it says it was resored, and will restart. Wait for itunes to recognize, ect. Itunes then wants to restore it again.

If you turn it on, it looks normal. Battery charges up fine.

The websites suggested were no help.

Anyone else have anything? I hate to have to get her a new one.

I know if you call Apple that they will try to ding you for money for tech support. I have been told by a few people to take mine to an Apple store. Do you have an Apple store anywhere near you?

No Apple store within 150 miles.

I did call them, and they wanted $29.99 to even talk to me. Guy said I may need to send it in for replacement anyway, so he suggested I save the $29.99.

if I could find itunes 9, I have been told I may be able to get it working. Apparently itunes 10 has a problem, and that may be what caused this whole mess.

I've also experienced this a lot lately. I find that by resetting the iPhone, the icons are updated and everything is installed. The only caveat is that apps that were in folders are now out of the folders and must be replaced..........

Have you tried to reset it by holding the play/pause and menu buttons simultaneously until you see an apple sign?
