My daughter's iPod touch will not charge. It was fine yesterday. all the other iPods in the house charge just fine on her cables. It shows the battery at about 50% now, but it still doesn't recognize either charger, or when I plug it into the computer.

Any thoughts?

I know jack about iPod Touch but saw that the new 7.1 something operating system is causing problems, including battery life, on some Apple i platforms.

I'm just a low tech iPho user and not that wild about some of the new formats the new O/S brought.

Best.

I had an iPod that was doing the same thing...

I did this and it cleared it up.

Restart your computer
Launch iTunes
Turn off your iPod
Hold the home button down and plug the the ipod into the cable. Continue holding down the home button. Then once it shows the iTunes and cable logo, restore the iPod and you should be good to go.

This helped me, hopefully it works for you.

-All the best

I have no idea how to reboot an iPod Touch, but rebooting is always the first thing to try. If that doesn't work, and you haven't done any software updates, then it might be a physical issue with the charging port.

Shutdown power. Clean charging port with cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Blow out with air to dry. Wait a couple minutes. Turn power back on. Try to charge.
If recently updated, wait for update fixes.

I left it on the charger all night and it was fully charged this morning. it still doesn't register the charger...I'm confused
