iPod Touch questions

Don't have one but am considering one. Questions:

1) Is there an app like RealPlayer or the various Firefox add-ons to download Flash videos to the memory?

2) re the WiFi capability--what's the rough speed of downloading? I've got dial-up at home and T1 at work. There are some gun/knife review vids I *could* download at work but would rather not.

I don't think you can download any videos on an ipod touch, but you can transfer videos from your computer to you ipod.

I have a heck of a time getting my touch to connect to any server. For som reason it sees the IP addresses as 169.XXXXXX I called Apple and they said it is an issue with where I am trying to connect to, mainly my house.

I have no other issues with any wireless devices in my house though. I don't get it.

I have never downloaded anything through WiFi to the touch, but navigating on it is relatively fast.

I don't know the answers to your other questions about other applications, sorry.

I have an itouch (no problems connecting to my home wifi) but I have problems

connecting to my school wifi which you login to with an account, Ive heard that they

wont update the current itouches with flash as it takes alot of proccesing power for

flash to work , in relation to online video playback , it only works with quicktime files, hope this helps

You can view Youtube videos on it, but you have to have a Wi-Fi connection.

Basically what everyone else said. I have the iPhone which is basically an iPod touch with always on Internet (and calling) and I use it all the time on the forums and YouTube when I'm on the go.

Flash videos are not supported. But YouTube is.

WiFi is not as fast as it is on the computer but it is still very fast. When I'm on WiFi web browsing is fast enough that I don't really need a computer although it is preferable to have a real computer. And I've types some pretty long posts on this thing.

For what it's worth, this post was typed on my iPhone.

Thanks to all for feedback so far. One thing I missed: I'm not looking to play flash vids, just download them to the computer. I hate flash vids but they seem to dominate what's out there.

Figured this might be cheaper than broadband and would give me some surfing ability on the go.
