Ireland Knife laws

Anyone have any experience bringing a blade into Ireland. I fly into Belfast next month and am going to be staying there for six months for work. All the customs stuff I've seen is rather vague in that it states "no offensive weapons" but doesn't get specific.

I would like to do some camping while there and worry a pack axe or larger fixed blade would be confiscated. Heck I wonder about bringing my chef knife since they seem a little paranoid in that part of the world.

thanks

edit: zapped my comment - even though Northern Ireland and Scotland are part of the UK, they may not have the same jurisdictional statutes as ones in England.

One of many Swiss Army Knives will do fine for camping, and won't upset the local constabulary. :)
