I picked this up awhile back and have had little luck figuring out who made it. First guess is Kelly but I can find nothing to prove it. Any help out there? Searches here and the net have turned up only tribal info, tomahawks and Iroquois Industries- modern company making auto parts.
Sorry for misspell in subject....

Thanks,
Bill

Bill, I took a look at my book of Kelly Axe & Tool Works by the author of Yesterdays Tools, Thomas C. Lamond. Kelly made single bit axes under 40 brand names.

Iroquois wasn't one of them. Also, the stamping of the Iroquois name just doesn't seem to be similar to the stamps that Kelly used on their tools.

Kelly/True Temper did make axes for Bridgeport Hardware (sold re-branded axes). I think your intuition is right, that this is a Kelly.

Thanks guys. Felt like Kelly but I was at a loss to find anything I could point to. No references, no ridges in eye... I wondered for a bit about Warren but stamping was still off.
I plan to scale way back but this one is just different enought to make the cut.
