The judge looked at Murphy and started reading the charges.
"Murphy, You are charged with the murder of your wife by striking her in the head with a shovel."
From the back of the room, someone shouted, "Your Bastard!"
The judge looked up sternly, and continued reading.....
"You are also charged with the murder of your mother-in-law by striking her repeatedly in the head with a shovel."
From the back came,"You dirty rotten Bastard!"
The judge called for order, and said, "Paddy, I know you are upset with Murphy over this heinous crime, but you can't be disturbing my courtroom.
Paddy replied, "It ain't that judge ..... His wife was a shrew and her mother a real witch. I would have killed them years ago, if it was me. What makes me mad is that I have lived next door to him for 15 years, and every time I asked to borrow a shovel, he told me he didn't own one."
