Guys,

I know this is probably a silly question, but I managed to disassemble my Dragon last night and I have found one washer and I'm unsure as to where it came from because as I was taking it down it just plopped out.

All I need to know is where to put this washer back.

Also, lock stick on a knife with an insert?? Is that due to the bearing interface getting stuck in the hole when the knife is closed? I have added graphite to any and every Ti surface that could possibly be sticking to the blade, so I doubt that's the issue. It's got really strong lock stick. I mean fierce.

There also seems to be slight up and down play when closed? I'd like for that to stop and if anyone else has experience dealing with this issue and the others stated above I would appreciate any and all insight.

Any and all tips to help me address these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing you can do about the play when closed. I've got 2 and both do this and I have heard of others experiencing this as well. One of mine had bad lock stick that smoothed out after repeatedly opening and closing and a bit of sharpie that has since been wiped off. The other had minor stick that went away very fast.
Not sure about the washer since I have never disassembled either of mine but I would guess it goes between the G10 scale and bearings. Someone else may be able to help you better with this. I was going to take one apart and clean it since it got very gritty but I put it away for a week and carried other knives and when I got it back out for cleaning it was smooth again. Not sure why but it saved me from having to take it apart.

Thanks for the input. That really sucks. If this knife had just a few of these kinks worked out it would be hands down one of my all time favorites. It still is, I just can't equate that preference to a logical one.

I wish someone would tell me definitely what side of the knife this washer goes back! I'm pretty sure you're right about it being the G10 side but I still have to know for sure...

Thanks guys!

Washer goes on the G10 side. Never have the bearings roll on the G10 as it's too soft of a material. The hardened washer exist to save the G10 from damage. The bearings will cold roll the bearing race/track into the titanium side like the other titanium framelocks out there.

Mine has play when closed. Another version of the "Emerson rattle". Lockstick on mine went away with some use.
