Well the title may look familiar because I just recently had one with the Cqc-13 and thanks to you kind Emerson enthusiasts I'm now the proud owner of a 13 and very happy with it .
That being said since the Iron Dragon was also one of my choices I'm thinking of and would like some input and thoughts of those that own one and or are familiar with them .
I've always wanted one but was afraid to pull the trigger for some reason .
Let me know your thoughts you haven't let me down yet 😊

Got to play with a friend's. The Iron Dragon, IMO is a very well defined and made-to-fight knife. The recurved blade lends itself well to picking, quick cuts, and long attacks. The knife as a whole, while slimmer than say, the Tiger, does not feel flimsy at all. Plus, the bearings are smoother than silk.

That good to hear , how does it feel in hand as far as does it feel thin in hand or did it give you a nice full grip feeling ?

It just sinks into your hand. I found that it didn't seat as comfortably in the reverse grip as say, the SOCFK or Bulldog, but it's still good. The G10 was also very aggressive to me, on par with Cold Steel, which was a very welcome feeling, considering that the non-show side is slick.

Thanks for your straight forward assessment I appreciate it . I do like a an aggressive g-10 that Emerson is known for and heard that the Iron Dragons g-10 is even up a few notches on the aggressive side . They do eat pants pockets more but well worth the trade off . Also on a few pairs of pants I have that side knife pocket "I like to call it " on my pant leg . Normally I don't use them but it gives me a extra pocket wear out lol for the rougher scales. I noticed that also with my 13 the reverse grip wasn't as good as the forward but still good and might be because the forward grip felt so darn good lol !

The Iron Dragon is one of my favorite Emersons. Because it's linerless on the G-10 side it does have a slimmer feel. The titanium lock side is the side that rides against your jeans so it doesn't shred the pocket, and it makes for a smoother draw on the knife. The handle is similar to the Commander, 8, and Appalachian. Me, I prefer the concave grips verses grips with a belly and I find the Iron Dragon to be comfortable in the reverse grip. It took me a little while to figure out my preference for the concave grip. As mentioned, the bearings allow for silk movement and the blade closes on its own weight. I carried this knife for almost 3 months straight, I never treated it any different and find that the bearings didn't not clog or slow to a big, noticeable difference. To me this knife gets two thumbs up!

Well went to buy the iron dragon had it in my cart at BHQ all weekend . Got up this morning to pull the trigger and it was sold out :(
So I ended buying another Hinderer xm18 but instead of a spear point , I went with a Bowie .
Loving my 13 so thought I'd add another Bowie to my collection 👍🏻

I'm waiting for a iron dragon. BHQ is excellent, my only problem is signature required for packages. I live alone now out on 5 acres. It's kind of a pain in the rump trying to get to the post office during business hours. I was looking at some cqc 12 last night. Sweet knife.

Yeah that would be a bummer although it hasn't happened to me in a long time but it might be because I have a locking mail box . Maybe you can call BHQ and authorize them to send it no sig required .
