What are your experiences with this line, the good, the bad, the ugly?

Thanks :)

i used it about 15 years ago when i was a kid just getting to bass fishing. I don't remember much about i except that it was pretty stiff once you got about 10 lb test. I didn't think they even made it anymore.

I have some that's older I bought it for float (bobber) fishing.Haven't used it yet use Siglon F. The Iron Silk is supposed to float which makes it nicer for float fishing.I think they did stop making it for awhile don't know if the new is the same as the old.

i do like it, i use it for fishing crankbaits around cover stuck as logs. i have caught many bass on it and have used it around tons of trees. it has held up very well, i don't use mono very much but if i do i use this. Iron silk is designed to be abrasion resistant so if you are throwing baits around cover such as logs, trees, docks ect.. i would use it.

Sounds like just the ticket for some river walleye.

I just got some 20 lb Iron Silk earlier today, tightened a simple Palomar with my bare hands....and it snapped like a twig.

I am pretty sure 20 lb line is not supposed to do that. I rarely had it happen like that with 8 and 10 lb lines.

Sounds like you had som old, brittle line in Your hands.
Buy a New spool.
