Here's one I just finished up for our friend Big Rick. A really nice hunter with some desert ironwood and bronze fittings. The ironwood has amazing depth that I have a hard time capturing. The hamon also has some cool 'ghost' activity above the transition line that I also didn't capture very well. Maybe see some use soon if it gets there in time?? :)

Specs:
Hand forged from 1075, clay quenched and etched
8 1/4" overall with a 3 3/4" blade, .195" at the ricasso with a nice full distal taper
Rounded spine and ricasso edge for comfort
Bronze fittings with double coined bronze spacers
Desert ironwood handle

All comments welcome.

That's a beauty John!

Supa' clean per your usual! :)

Rick is building one heck of a collection...

John, Super clean / nice work there pal. I like everything you have done with this one. I'll bet the new owner is going to be very happy.

just about all the knives I've seen you post look 'just right'.

Very clean. Great overall, but your mark is the cleanest one I've seen and really brings that crispness to the next level.

Thank you all for posting. I really appreciate the comments guys.

I especially appreciate them when you guys continue to comment even though most of you have seen this same style hunter from me for a while now.

There are days when I'd love to get away from these hunters. :) But they are VERY popular and I get orders for them all the time. I'm not complaining there and believe me, I sure appreciate all you guys ordering these hunting knives. I grew up in a hunting family and have been a hunter all my life. Good hunting knives are near and dear to me.

I've had people ask me if I make larger knives and I do. I promise in the next few weeks and months I've got bowies and larger camp knives coming down the line.

Ok. I'm done rambling. :) Thanks again for posting guys.

Never get tired of looking at fine hunters from you John and this is no exception mate ! Bring on the big ones !!!
Cheers Keith

I saw one of John's hunters posted on here a while back and thought I gotta have one of those, so I contacted him and we discussed just what I wanted and left it with him. I have to say that it is one great knife that he has made for me:D:D.
This one will be used pretty soon on my trip to the highlands of Scotland with my new custom made Blaser .308, hope to bag some big red stags.
Can't wait to get this one in my hand! Thanks, I have to say John is a real pleasure to deal with.

^^^ This is why I love Custom Knives. What a gem of craftsmanship!
