I finished this one over a month ago and intended to get Chuck to shoot it for me. With school starting and a thirteen year old needing supplies and cloths its just not in the budget so it shipped out to Colorado to see use on Elk, Mule Deer, Pronghorn and Bear.

Blade: 3 1/2" hand forge W2
Fittings: 416 SS
Handle: Ironwood
Finish: Hand rubbed with polished Hamon
Sheath: Kenny Rowe

Sorry for the poor phone pic and the smudge of wax on the blade.
Comments and critiques allways welcomed and encouraged.

Fine work and I'm sure it'll serve well. :)

I can envision that with a slight upper-guard and a nice, sharpened clip. ;)

Thanks, Tad and Dawkind I appreciate the complements.
Dawkind I have something in the works like you describe. It's from my first billet of Damascus, with frame handle and guard from the same billet. Hope to finish it this weekend and get it to Chuck Ward soon after.

It looks great. I like the hamon especially.

Guys, this little knife represents a lot of hard work. Chris started off filing everything to shape. He may have filed this one, I cant remember. He now has a grinder and will be hard to stop. I've seen some of his designs on paper and look forward to seeing them completed in the near future.

Great looking hunter, Chris! I would want a slightly wider handle, but I have a big hand. I am a fan of the W2 steel and nice hamon. There's a lucky hunter out west right now.

Lin, Allen and Joe thanks for the complements. Joe when you say wider I assume from top to bottom. Is there an ideal measurement for you on that for your taste? Perhaps others could chime in on that as well. I always want my work to improve and this kind of feedback is very advantageous in that regard.

Thanks, Chris

Hard to say exactly from an image, but yes, a little wider and probably slightly thicker. Just guessing, of course. But, something to consider when custom making a user for a customer. That looks like a wonderful hunter to have strapped on to one's side.

Thanks Tad. Joe, I had free reign on this one but have hunted with it's new owner my whole life so, I have good info to go from. But I always keep looking for input to improve my work.
