Here is a Bowie that I just finished. Blade is 7 inches of 1084, fittings are of nickel silver, and the handle is obviously ironwood. Thanks for looking.

The fit & finish on that knife looks fantastic. That long swedge has a real nice look to it. Pretty well all the nickel silver I have seen over the last year or so has had a yellow coloration, but the nickel silver on your knife doesn't. I like much better with the silver colour like on this knife.

I think NiSilver becomes yellowish over time. It takes a patina.

Wow Brett - keep those beauties coming! Beautiful bowie with some extra-nice ironwood.

I'm probably out there on the fringe, but I actually like the patina that nickle silver can take on - adds a touch of warmth. I generally prefer stainless steel for its superior scratch resistance, but a little variety is nice and it's not like my knives see a lot of hard use anyway. ;)

Thanks for the comments. The clip is false edge. Keith, this nickel silver was the 18% type that I have heard is becoming hard to find. It does have a yellow tint but not as bad as some I have had. I still like using nickel silver alot but am starting to lean towards the stainless stuff. It definitely takes a patina over time.

Thanks again,
Brett

Hey bro, I love it. Great swedges, and I'm glad you went with the thin pins; I like seeing that ironwood.

I'm with you Roger, I like the patina nickel silver and bronze take on. But I also like smooth stainless :).
