Here is one I finished up yesterday for a fellow formite in California. It has a forged 8" 1084 blade with blued coin edged guard and file worked spacer. The handle is ironwood with some great grain pattern. The handle features some nice palm swells. The balance on the bowie is right at the back of the guard. sorry about the bad pics.

Craig, that is a very fine piece of work, my friend! Thanks, again for pulling my fat out of the fire when I desperately needed it! ---Sandy---

Craig,
I like it! That handle is beautiful. It looks like it would feel great in the hand. Keep up the great work.

That's another slick one Craig - nice work. Good lines and proportions. I predict the new owner will be grinning like a kid with candy.

Craig...
That's it - that is so close to exactly the style I prefer most... the handle, the ratio of clip length/angle to blade length/width...
But will it chop? Slice and dice? (Okay, actually I'm sure it would... but the ONLY change I would ask would be to include a thongtube... but that's just me..)
Be on the lookout for an email!

This knife has a nice balanced look to it and I really like the contoured handle. That is also some great looking ironwood.

Thanks for the comments everyone. The handle shape is the evolution of a handle style that I have been playing with for awhile. The curves and contours of the handle match the shape of the hand for a really comfortable feel in a varity of grip positions.
The trouble I have had in the past when playing with this handle shape is the standard blocks of ironwood have not been wide enough to get the down turn in the handle like I was seeking. I recently picked up some blocks that were 2 1/4" wide and they worked out great for the handle shape.

Nifrand, She is on the way to you.
