Howdy All!!!!

Here is an IronWood Fighter that I made for a customer. He was very happy to get this.......

This is a HC birdseye of 1084 and 15n20 that I forged myself. When I am not playing Army Nurse I am forging. Thanks for looking !!!

Were you thinking about kukri's when you designed this? It kinda looks that way to me. I wouldn't have thought of that, but it looks really good... nice "flow" and I bet it balances well, too.

The blade and handle patterns really flow together. Wish I had a chance to handle it to see how that dropped pointy blade feels in the hand.

It feels quite nice:cool:

thanks guys.... I really enjoyed making this knife.... I made two blades and this is the last blade where I liked the pattern to the handle material..... This piece was better than the one I carry....... HEY< guess I should not have let it go.....

The pic makes it look a little wider than it is. Ever since the military moved my house and screwed up my camera it acts funny.... Going to send it off this week... The shutter does not close and will only focus in at a set distance so the rest is walking up and back and holding your tongue right..

Later guys

Thanks for that order......... I have had sever people want this type of knife in a variety of knives from this post... guess I need to post more of my custom pieces. I am making some for my fellow soldiers with a coated blade, and carbon steel with a bead blasted finish.....

This was one knife that I held myself off and on for two days. Yeah!!!!! it was all a good match..... and the one for fosconey2 is going to have a quilted sapele handle with nickel guard and mosaic pin with a birds-eye 15n20 and 1084 damascus blade.

What am I thinking..... I better put myself on the order for when I go to Iraq in the future... just missed this upcoming deployment.... but my time will be soon enough....

Later all,,,,,,

Thanks Cory, Yes, I am at Bragg now... and been working nights as an army nurse for 7 months. I just switched to working days and have me shop up and running (meaning messy) for 5 months......

Hi just finished shaping my first damasteel blade "rose pattern". I have never etched before. And now for first dumb question "do I etch before or after heat treatment? This will be knife number 16.

better take the finish at least at 800 handrubber lengthwise before you etch it... pop it in and out.... check it.... to see if you need more sanding... and etch.... use 0000 steel wool between etchings that black oxide slows the etching down......

and leo... sorry to hear you got the blade bug too....
NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I just aquired this one through another BF member . It`s very nice but i was wondering Daniel what would be the best way to bring the handle finish back it`s gone a little dull also the blade is a little bit dull to . Do you have any suggestions ? thanks in advance !

If you want....send it back to me and I will redo the finish and sharpen for free....just take care of return shipping.....
you can apply tung oil then use very fine paper.... or panty hose to get the luster back in the handle. The blade edge.... just hit it with more aggressive stone then to a finer stone and so on. email me direct to let me know... my computer is fried (harddrive) so I am on the one at work.... not suppose to be.
