Here's number 2 of 3 for an order. I posted the first on THIS thread a while back.

Specs: 5/32" CPM154, LN cryo'd, 3.5" blade, 7.5" OAL, Arizona Desert Ironwood burl, black spacers, hand stitched custom leather sheath. This knife is much slimmer than the first as the first was a customer request for a thicker handle.

Thanks for looking!

This ironwood is pretty ridiculous. It looks great in the sun light.

Thanks for looking. As always, comments and critiques of all kinds welcomed!

Nice clean work, and I really like the design. Looks like it would be very comfortable in the hand. Very solid sheath as well. Great job!!!

Thanks everyone. I do appreciate your thoughts. Ironwood rapidly moved its way into my favortie wood for handles. It works so well, finishes so nicely, and does have that warmth. Even the more uniform grained pieces without much burl or patterning can be very pleasing when finished right. This stock I got from Tracy (USAKnifemaker.com) is premo stuff, for sure.

The sheath for this piece is extremely simple.

And Dear God - is simple SO HARD to do!

Good work man - I am a sheath maker (fairly noobish) and your work on the leather is VERY nice.

People may not appreciate that because they look only at the steel - but good for you for not skimping in this area.

Thanks for the words, TF. These sheaths do take some time beyond your typical leather loops. It's a major PITA to get everything lined up, but I think the overall ease of use of this type of sheath makes it very well worth it. I only wear belts when I wear jeans or slacks, and I'd hate to not be able to carry a knife just because I'm wearing shorts, wind pants, or just not wearing a belt. The function of an EDC knife has just as much to do with the sheath as it does with the knife. If you can't carry it every day, you can't use it. I wanted a sheath that can quickly be taken on or off, and can be comfortably worn all day. These sheaths really are comfy and easy for daily use.

Thanks again!

what type of finish would that be like a satin . And how is it achieved. I have been polishing my cpm154 to hi gloss and would like to try something different. Very nice working knife

hellgap, check the thread in Shop Talk (it's titled the same thing...just buried a few pages back now). I answered a question about my sanding techniques there. This is a 400 grit working finish sanded by hand.
